Last Thursday we held the Workshop Mat4Health. The activity was an online conference with researchers from AeMAT and two guest speakers.

Julian Dye, the Founder of OxRegen Ltd, and Honour Lecturer in the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford, presented his lecture “The bio-intelligent biomaterial scaffold concept for regenerative skin reconstruction”.

Morteza Mahmoudi who is Assistant Professor of Radiology and Precision Health Program at Michigan State University presented “Opportunities and challenges of nanomedicine and regenerative medicine”

Luis Gómez-Díaz, Postdoctoral Researcher of AeMAT (USC) from the research group I+D Farma, contributed with the lecture “3D bioprinting of gradient scaffolds for tissue regeneration”.

Materials play a major role to find solutions to many issues related to Health. Scaffolds, skin reconstruction, regenerative medicine are evolving with the help of technologies like 3D printing. These applications have a major impact regarding questions like cancer, population ageing, recovery of those who suffered traffic accidents and other public health issues. Those challenges are in the agenda of national as well as European governments. Materials for Health is one of the three focus of AeMAT.
